Dr. Michelle Hebert DC, CHT, CYI always had a great love for the environment and nature. In her childhood years, she took part in volunteer work like initiating and organizing recycling programs in her school and volunteering at Earth Day celebrations. Her love for the environment was so strong that she felt that the best way to use her aptitude for math and science was to become an environmental engineer. Because many engineering schools did not have specific environmental engineering programs in the early-1990s, she decided to take a Bachelors program in Chemical Engineering with Environmental Emphasis from WPI in Massachusetts. “I thought that the best way to help solve environmental problems was to know about how they are created, and then with that knowledge, change the processes to be less polluting. That is why I chose chemical engineering… the chemical engineers are the ones that know how to change the chemical processes to be less damaging to the environment.” Even before graduation, she began working for a large chemical company that produced plastics an resins. After graduation, a major petroleum refining company recruited her to work in one of the largest petroleum refineries in the United States to be the lead engineer on the environmental recovery unit.
The experience Dr. Hebert received working for these large chemical companies profoundly changed her outlook on human-kind and the earth. As she was working in this industry, she started to slowly become aware that the most effective long-term way to stop environmental damage occurs when both consumers and chemical producers change their mind-sets and heal their hearts. “I started to realize that if people's hearts are healed, meaning that they learn to unconditionally love themselves, they will automatically then begin to unconditionally love others and the earth. With that state of mind, they would not even begin to create anything that is out of balance and destructive to the environment. I also realized that everything not only needs to heal from the outside in, but also from the inside out. We can do all external changes and “fixes” to help the environmental problems, but if the minds and hearts of people are not healed, they will not awaken to the consequences of their actions or to the desires that have created the destruction in the first place. I started to realize that my true role was to help people to change; to help them to become healthier and to heal their hearts. When people change, the whole world will change to a happier, healthier world.”
Dr. Hebert made a decision in 1997 to leave the chemical industry and pursue a degree in holistic health. Specifically by the year 2000, she received a doctorate of chiropractic, graduating magna cum laude, and received a certificate as a naturopathic practitioner for the state of Texas. She then moved to Chandler, Arizona where she began treating patients in fall of 2000. In the following 3 years, she continued her education in Acupuncture, Hypnotherapy, and Allergy Desensitization work. In the year 2001, she was introduced to energy healing and meditation techniques that acted as a spring board for her own healing and future teachings. “That is when I really began to feel large changes occurring within myself. I began to shed old belief systems and began to purify my mind and energy so that I could be of greater service. The years from 2002-2006 were very intense and filled with rapid healing and self-realization. Also during this time, I began to teach others what I discovered worked well on me to clear energetic and health blockages.” The response to the healings and teachings from the patients and students was so positive that in 2002, Dr. Hebert opened Chandler Holistic Healthcare Center in Chandler, Arizona. www.ChandlerHolistic.com This center became a place for Dr. Hebert to see thousands of patients and teach meditation and energy healing classes.
In the years from 2005-2007, Dr. Hebert began traveling to places such as India, Nepal and Tibet, which resulted in an even greater development of her intuition and awareness as she was able to visit sacred sites and spiritual teachers. “I am very grateful that I’ve been able to be in the presence (receive Darshan) from great spiritual teachers like Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Ammachi the Hugging Saint of India), Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba (of India), Ponchen Lama (of Tibet), Mother Meera (of India), Lama Tsering Wangdu Rinpoche (of Tibet/Nepal) and others. The influence of these great teachers has been profound as they have each been ultimate examples of Unconditional Love, Compassion, God-Realization, Awareness of Truth and Selfless Service. The connections I have made with these teachers have been extremely important because they have all helped me to realize that qualities that I admire in them are also within me. Those qualities simply need to be recognized and allowed to shine forth. They are all tremendous examples of God’s Love and keeping each of them in my mind and heart helps me to be an example of God’s Love also.”
Influenced by these great teachers, Dr. Hebert’s service to people has expanded and evolved to include:
- Teaching various health, Kundalini yoga, meditation classes and retreats
- Creating and offering meditation and guided visualization CDs
- Speaking on various topics of holistic health and meditation
- Volunteering for Amma’s non-profit IAM meditation technique – (Ammachi gave permission for Dr. Hebert to teach this technique in June 2008.) http://www.iam-meditation.org/amma.htm
- Treating patients for greater physical, energetic and emotional health and balance
- Leading trips to sacred sites. (Dr. Hebert has led groups to and personally experienced sacred sites in these countries: India, Tibet(China), Austria, Peru, (Machu Picchu), Thailand, England (Stonehenge), Ireland, and in the US: Hawaii, Mt. Shasta, Sedona)
“I now choose to create tools and experiences to help people to awaken to their True Selves. I know that this world will transform into a more peaceful and loving world when the people choose to heal and let go of all the false belief systems that they hold onto about themselves and the world. I have experienced (and I am still wondrously experiencing) my own awakening to Truth and I am now a vessel to allow Healing Light and Truth to flow through me and assist others in their own awakening towards a Higher Awareness of Love.” - Dr. Michelle Hebert
